Fayetteville Academy strives to provide a safe online experience for it's students. To that end, Fayetteville Academy is compliant with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) that restricts access to images that are harmful to minors. Fayetteville Academy utilizes the following technology in an effort to keep our students safe.
- Campus computers - Firewall (campus network) and safety software that alerts administration (with a screenshot) if it detects keywords it classifies as self harm, bullying, or inappropriate.
- School Issued Chromebooks - Firewalls (campus network and on the device) and safety software that alerts administration (with a screenshot) if it detects keywords it classifies as self harm, bullying, or inappropriate.
- Networked Computers - Any computer connected to the campus network is monitored by our firewall. This includes laptops owned by upper school students.
- Email - Student's email messages are scanned for "Inappropriate" keywords. Messages with these keywords are quarantined and reviewed by the technology staff before allowing them to be delivered or being blocked.
Information about online activity that is inappropriate is given to the respective division director.
