Course Description

Campers will discover that all living things are made of cells and are classified as either prokaryotic or eukaryotic cells. Campers will also learn about the function of organelles and apply that knowledge by creating a model. We will dig deeper by conducting hands-on experiments to explore how solutions move in and out of cells and what strawberry DNA looks like.

Course Description

Does you child enjoy problem solving, mysteries, and math? Then they may be interested in Escape the Room Math. Students will work in teams to solve various math problems and equations to escape the room be-fore the timer goes off. This camp will rein-force math skills learned in school, in a fun and interactive setting. Materials will be pro-vided.

Musical Theatre Camp at Fayetteville Academy

FADESTOWN

Inspired by the Tony award winning musical, “Hadestown”, this camp will engage students in a musical retelling of the Greek myth, “Orpheus and Eurydice.”

It’s a tragedy. But we sing it anyway.

Audition guidelines

  1. Introduce yourself! Give us your name and one sentence about yourself.
  2. Sing 16 bars (or a verse and a chorus) of any song of your choice. Your song can be acapella or ac-companied by a backing track or live instrument.
  3. Submit your video to lvalcarcel@fayacademy.org

*This audition will be used to cast the show from the students who sign up for the camp. This will allow us to get started right away instead of using the first day for auditions.

Calling all fairies! In Fairy Garden Camp each camper will make tiny creations for their very own fairy garden. We will also do fairy-themed arts and crafts. We will end our week by sprinkling pixie dust in the gar-den and having a fairy picnic!

Come join Ms. Reavis for a week of FUN with paper airplanes! Campers will learn how to make/fold a new paper airplane (or two) each day, decorate them, and even do some flight test! We will work on our aviation skills by practicing some fun “pilot” games and have lots of fun! Wear comfortable clothes and closed toed shoes. Campers need to bring a snack and a bottle of water (labeled please) for each day. See you in the friendly skies!

Campers will learn to become Crime Scene Investigators during actual crime scene set-ups! Campers will be introduced to many types of evidence, age-appropriate case studies and a mock crime scene. Campers will learn about the tools used in the field to collect evidence, how a crime is actually solved and learn how Biology, Chemistry and Physics plays a major role in the investigation! Fiber, Handwriting, Fingerprinting and DNA Analysis!

Come join Ms. Reavis for a Fayetteville Academy Summer Odyssey tradition- FORT BOX CAMP! Campers need to bring 2-3 boxes big enough to fit in, one roll of duct tape, a flashlight (labeled), and lots and lots of energy! We build, create, and play all day!
