Peter Buryk is the proud parent of three children – Ben (10), Claire (8), and Luke (5). He is celebrating his 15-year anniversary this year to his wife, Melissa, who is a Navy physician and medical educator.

Peter is serving his community in the city government of Norfolk, Virginia, the second largest municipality in the Commonwealth. During his time as a public servant, he has worked in budgeting and financial planning, as the chief of staff for the City Manager, and most recently, as the director for the city’s data science and strategic planning team. Prior to working in local government, Peter worked for five years as a public policy researcher for the RAND Corporation, a non-profit, non-partisan research organization. After graduating from the U.S. Naval Academy and Georgetown University, he served in the U.S. Navy for eight years in a variety of sea and shore-based assignments.

He would like to express his appreciation and gratitude to all of the Fayetteville Academy teachers, administrators, and coaches who gave their time and talents over the years to him and many other alumni!
