Katherine said, “It is so awesome to see our kids growing up at the Fayetteville Academy and having the same experiences I did as a kid including having some of the same teachers: Mrs. Satisky, Mrs. Smith, who my class would remember as Ms. Myers, Mrs. Goodrum, Ms. Lambert, Mr. Bishop, and Ms. Levesque. It has been a great experience seeing FA through my girls’ eyes!”

Stephen Tillotson graduated from Wake Forest University and writes, “not UNC-Chapel Hill, as everyone expected; those college spirit days can fool you!”  He took every chance to study or do research abroad, reaching seven, unique countries on four, different continents during my college studies. He highly recommends seeking those opportunities.

After college, he worked for Americorps in Alaskan national parks and with a youth trail-building program in Arizona.

He landed a job, now a career, with NC Parks as a State Ranger at Jordan Lake SRA. Finally, Stephen moved up, promotion and elevation, to the Chimney Rock State Park. As a ranger, he does everything from law enforcement, to teaching nature programs, to building trails, rescuing hikers, and unclogging toilets. He said, “It’s very glamorous.”

Married more than a dozen years, he says their greatest gift/achievement is an 8-year-old daughter
