Sean Garison is a charter member of Fayetteville Academy, attending from kindergarten through graduation, and he played on the first state championship soccer team and was senior class president. He attended Appalachian State University and graduated with a B.S. in business. He lives in Charlotte and is Regional Sales Manager for Atlas Copco Tools and Assembly Systems LLC. He has three children, Aidan (22), Cameron (19), a sophomore at ECU, and Ian (15), a sophomore in high school.
Jay Runy attended Appalachian State University on an ROTC Scholarship and graduated in 1991 with a B.S.B.A. and joined the National Guard upon graduation and is still in the Guard, serving as a colonel in the South Carolina Army National Guard. He has mobilized with the Guard for Operation Iraqi Freedom as well as three times for Operation Noble Eagle (Homeland Defense). Jay attended the Army War College (MA, Strategic Studies), the University of South Carolina (MBA), and the University of Texas at El Paso (MA, Leadership Studies). In civilian life, he owns Apexgrahix Printing in Columbia, SC with his father John, who is a former board member at the Fayetteville Academy. Jay is married to Janice Halgren Runy and he has two stepdaughters. Janice is currently working for the Air Force as a civilian. Jay’s free time is spent traveling, hunting, and boating.
