Board of Trustees

The Board of Trustees is composed of 15-19 individuals, at least 75% of whom must have a child enrolled in Fayetteville Academy.  With the exception of the Head of School who serves in an ex-officio capacity, no person shall be eligible to be a member of the Board of Trustees who is employed by the school or has a member of his/her immediate family employed by the school.  Trustees shall be at least 21 years old and hold office for the term for which he/she is elected and until their successor is elected and installed.    

The members of the Board of Trustees may elect a maximum of six Trustees for a term of three years at each of the Annual Meetings of the Board of Trustees.  Trustees so elected shall succeed the Trustees whose terms expire.  A Trustee shall not be nominated to succeed himself unless the Committee on Trustees shall recommend that the uninterrupted service of a Trustee is in the best interest of the progress of Fayetteville Academy.  The Committee on Trustees may nominate a Trustee to succeed himself for one additional term, provided that in no such event shall more than four Trustees be elected to succeed themselves at any single Annual Meeting.

An Annual Meeting will be held in May of each year for the purpose of electing Trustees and any officers of the Corporation and for the proper transaction of any other business before the Board of Trustees.
