Bill Boyette Hired as Head Coach

Fayetteville Academy is pleased to announce that Bill Boyette has been hired as head coach of the boys’ varsity basketball team. Boyette, who most recently served as the head coach at Terry Sanford High School, joins the Academy’s basketball program as part of his very successful 30-year coaching career. Coach Boyette’s Terry Sanford teams posted an 11-year record of 227-67 and won 13 total, regular season and tournament titles. He has coached numerous teams to state tournament berths and has finished as state runners-up four times. His teams have also won two NCHSAA state championships, one at Terry Sanford (2015) and the other at Cary High School (1995). Coach Boyette replaces James Strong, who resigned following the 2017-18 season after posting a three-year record of 53-22.
