Band at FA
Our Long Instrumental History
The Fayetteville Academy band program has existed for many years to give each student the
opportunity to enjoy the Concert Wind Band experience. With smaller class sizes, the focus on private instruction and personal attention has always been paramount. The Students in the Academy are the stars of tomorrow no matter the stage.
Strength in Community
The Academy and its instructors have a strong relationship in the community with the Fayetteville Youth Symphony, the Fayetteville Symphonic Band, and Afternoon Strings. We are happy to support these programs to extend the reach of the arts into the Fayetteville area and beyond.
Opportunities Abound
By participating in band, students are eligible to participate in North Carolinas all-district auditions as well as All-State auditions. We give regular concerts and participate in athletic events such as pep-band. Fun events such as lock-ins and trips are scheduled to build musicianship and community.
Program Scope
We teach beginners in the 5th grade. We welcome new students in the 6 th and 7 th grades to choose an instrument as well. Our advanced ensemble consists of qualified individuals from 8th -12th grade. We teach offer instruction on Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Oboe, Bassoon, Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn, Tuba and Percussion, and string bass. At this time only advanced students can play the guitar, piano, or bass in our ensemble. Beginning students are required to have instruction in a wind or percussion instrument.
