Board of Trustees

As a not-for-profit institution, Fayetteville Academy is governed by a board of trustees.  Serving as stewards of the Academy, trustees volunteer their time and talent from a sense of love and duty to the Academy, operate in a fiduciary capacity, and receive no compensation or special benefit from their service.  The members of the Board of Trustees are a diverse and dedicated group drawn from the Academy’s constituent groups who provide oversight and governance for Fayetteville Academy.  The Board is primarily responsible for establishing, maintaining, and promoting the Academy’s mission to ensure the Academy serves both today’s students and future generations.  They do this by developing and refining the Academy’s strategic plan, setting broad institutional policies, maintaining a strong and positive school culture, and ensuring the financial health of the Academy.  The Board hires and works collaboratively with the Head of School, who is in charge of day-to-day administration and operations. The Head of School is a non-voting member of the Board of Trustees. Trustees are expected to contribute their time, talent, resources, and energy selflessly in support of the Academy and its mission.

The Fayetteville Academy Board of Trustees embraces the principles of transparency, integrity, and accountability.  As a member school, it also endorses and subscribes to the Principles of Good Practice established by the National Association of Independent Schools:
